Mosscrop Cycles

A brief history

N E Mosscrop

It would be safe to say that the cycle of life certainly applies to Mosscrop Cycles as the premises at 78 Bispham Road has housed the business for the last 66 years.

In 1953 Norman Mosscrop bought the premises which he ran as one of the first petrol stations in Southport. This ran in tandem with the cycle shop, selling motoring accessories, cycles and cycling accessories together with a cycle workshop.

Keeping with the family tradition, Normans son Gary joined the business in 1979, having worked there as a lad on Saturdays and in 1989, they took on Michael Parkinson, another Saturday worker who now proudly runs the business along with Gary after becoming a partner in 2002. Mosscrop Cycles offer a comprehensive choice of bicycles and relevant clothing to suit every age and everybody's needs including the newest trend of electric bikes, carbon fibre bikes and so much more. Alongside a top class servicing and repairs service, its no wonder Mosscrop Cycles have built up a reputation as the place to go to for all your cycling needs.

Pop along and see for yourself, you won't be disappointed.
